Membership Details
“ A man, Sir, should keep his friendship in constant repair.”
Samuel Johnson
We welcome as members anyone with interests in Johnson and his circle, or literary and cultural life in the eighteenth century.
Details of the meetings of the Society are announced in the annual programme sent out in September. Those who are unable to attend can read the papers in the Society's annual journal the New Rambler. More topical items are noted in the Society's occasional newsletter, the New Idler. Both these publications are sent to all members.
